Proof for deluxe Galerie Maeght greeting card with dedication
Etching and aquatint in colours,1950. First printing of the plate that would become one of several deluxe Galerie Maeght greeting cards in 1951 produced by Miró. This being a signed proof with wide margins numberfed 5/5 and with a dedication to Louis G. Clayeux (1913 – 2007) a french art critic and dealer, who was director of Galerie Maeght from 1948 – 1965. The plate is from a group of 3 that Miró kept and later reworked in 1962 to illustrate a deluxe edition of Anti – Platon by Yves Bonnefoy. (Dupin 74; Cramer 77.)
